YAMAHA CORPORATION (Headquarters:
10-1, Nakazawa-cho, Hamamatsu-shi, Shizuoka; President:
Shuji Ito) has announced that its musical instruments
sales subsidiary, Yamaha Music Central Europe
GmbH (YMCE, Headquarters: Rellingen, Germany;
Managing Director Yasuaki Gyoten), has opened
a representative office in Moscow in the Russian
Federation and begun operations.
In recent years, Russia has drawn attention
around the world as a newly emerging market with
major potential for future growth. A wide range
of companies from many countries are accelerating
and broadening their initiatives to enter the
Russian market. In the area of music and sound,
where YAMAHA is focusing its initiatives, Russia
is well known for the world famous International
Tchaikovsky Competition, which is held every four
years. In addition, the Russian market has potential
for steady expansion, because of the strong interest
in education among the people and the local sophisticated
music education system.
YAMAHA started its exports to the Russian market
in 1992 through the distributors. The Moscow Representative
Office was established to expand YAMAHA’s
sales base in Russia and promotes YAMAHA’s
participation in the growth of the market for
musical instruments in that country. YAMAHA plans
to use this new office as a foothold in the market
and create new demand for musical instruments
in Russia. At the same time, YAMAHA hopes to contribute
to cultural exchange between Russia and Japan
through musical activities and promote the development
of music education in Russia. |
