Following the promulgation of the Defined-Benefit Corporate Pension Law, YAMAHA and some of its domestic consolidated subsidiaries received permission from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare on December 1, 2004, to obtain reimbursement for payment of prior-year obligations associated with the substitutional portion of the employee welfare pension fund. Regarding the effect of the return the substitutional portion of the employee welfare pension fund on performance in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2005, the estimated reimbursement value was ¥19,790 million in consolidated extraordinary income and ¥16,747 million in nonconsolidated extraordinary income. In the interim performance report released on November 2, 2004, these factors were announced and included in bases of performance forecasts for the fiscal year. Accordingly, performance forecasts for the fiscal year have not been adjusted.
