Yamaha Super Ringtone !
A Polyphonic Ringtone Download Service for Bouygues Telecom in France
Service from August 8, 2003 |
 |
YAMAHA CORPORATION (head office: Nakazawa-cho, Hamamatsu-shi, Shizuoka; president: Shuji Ito) has started providing a polyphonic ringtone download service for Bouygues Telecom (Head Office: Boulogne-Billancourt, France), a French mobile communications operator since August 8,2003.
In November 2002, based on an agreement with NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Bouygues Telecom began providing i-modeTM service to subscribers in France. Approximately 235,000 customers have already signed up, and demand is expected to rise dramatically. To serve these customers, YAMAHA has launched Yamaha Super Ringtone!, a high-quality polyphonic ringtone download service, and will make a strong effort to expand its business as the number of i-modeTM customers grows.
France has a population of 59.5 million, of which 37.8 million are mobile phone users. Bouygues Telecom has 6 million subscribers, 15,6% of the total. Drawing on expertise developed in the Japanese market, YAMAHA will provide high-quality polyphonic ringtones from a range of genres, including French pop, the latest U.S. and British hits, movie soundtracks, jazz and classical music.
i-mode and the i-mode logo are trade marks registered by NTT DoCoMo, Inc. in Japan and other countries. |
