Yamaha to Provide Cell Phone Ringing Melody Service
to Taiwan's KG Telecommunications

Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka, November 30, 2001 (JCN) -- Yamaha Corp., the world's largest maker of musical instruments, is pleased to announce that it agreed with KG Telecommunications Co., Ltd. of Taiwan to distribute a range of single-tone ringing melodies for cellular phones to subscribers of KGT's igogo service from December 3rd.

Yamaha is one of the leading providers of ringing melodies to cell phones, offering a choice of more than 6,000 ringing tone melodies to over 3 million subscribers in Japan. The Company has decided to take advantage of this experience and its extensive archive of ringing melodies to expand operations overseas.

The agreement with KG Telecom, Taiwan's fourth-largest mobile phone company, is the second such agreement Yamaha has made in Taiwan and consolidates its position in a country where some 80 percent of the population have cell phones.
