Yamaha began LSI production as a way of manufacturing sound generators for our electronic music instruments within the confines of the corporate group. We have used know-how gained through our work on these LSI sound generators to expand into LSIs for mobile phones and amusement machines, and to develop technologies for use in new fields, including Digital IC Amplifiers, LSIs for automobiles, and silicon microphones that utilize MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology. These semiconductor products have been well received throughout the world.
